The McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release Technique is an amazing advancement in the treatment of scar tissue and is changing people’s lives.
A scar is the product of the body’s repair mechanism after tissue injury and scarring is a natural part of the healing process. Scar tissue is composed of the same protein, collagen, as the tissue that it replaces, but the fibre composition of the collagen is different. This collagen scar tissue is usually of inferior functional quality to the normal collagen. Scar tissue also lacks elasticity of normal tissue, thus having a pulling effect upon surrounding soft tissues and joints. We often look at a scar and consider only the surface, but often a scar is many layers deep, especially when it is a result of trauma or surgery.

Scar tissue release may help with the appearance of the scar, restrictions in the fascia, inhibited joint movement, reduction in blood and lymph flow, weakened muscular strength, reduction in energy flow and emotional trauma.
It can be extremely effective for long or short term scarring such as:
- Caesarian section
- Hysterectomy
- Spinal surgery
- Hip, knee or shoulders surgery
- Heart bypass surgery
- Trauma
- Mastectomy
- Amputation
….and many others
