Pilates and Bowen

Pilates

Pilates and Bowen go hand in hand when restoring balance to the body.  Bowen releases and realigns the body whilst Pilates targets the body’s stabilising muscles to strengthen the body and maintain integrity of the skeletal structure.

Pilates is an exercise method, designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Based upon an anatomical understanding of the body’s muscular and skeletal systems, the Pilates teacher creates a comprehensive exercise programme for the client.

Classes will focus on specific areas individually whilst using exercises that integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function.

It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today. Pilates can be beneficial for just about everyone, regardless of age and fitness level.

We offer a range of Pilates options from our dedicated studio in Skipton “Spirit of Pilates’, and recommend starting with a private introduction so that we can assess your posture and talk about what you want to get out of your Pilates class, before introducing you to the method and the various pieces of equipment we use.

Pilates is a great form of exercise if you are recuperating from injury, or you are taking a course of Bowen treatments.
