About Bowen

The Bowen technique is a complementary therapy first used in the 1950s. It uses a mix of energetic redirecting and pressure point movements to prompt the body to reset, repair and rebalance itself. Bowen therapy may be effective when other techniques have failed to deal with the root cause of the problem, particularly in the case of ongoing aches and pain in a specific area, such as a stiff neck. Treaments may help with most musculo-skeletal injuries, emotional stress, traumas, digestive issues, immune systems and hormonal imbalance related conditions.

Bowen Therapy and Scar Tissue Release

Bowen Therapy and Scar Tissue Release are couch-based therapies, however, they can also be performed seated. The best results are obtained by performing the moves direct on the skin, although it can also work effectively through light clothing.

Sessions can vary between 30 minutes to approximately one hour. There is no fixed course or treatment but it is always recommended to have a second session one week after the first to allow the initial response to be assessed. We are all unique and most people will notice benefits after 1-3 sessions, although chronic conditions can often take longer to respond. Progress will be discussed at all sessions so the way forward can be agreed. The Bowen Technique is beneficial to anyone, from the elderly, pregnant women to newborn and infant children.
